Aloha!
I am Mrs. Christine Okiyama
I have been a Transition Center Coordinator here at LHS for the last 10 years.
I am from the island of Guam. I was born in Portsmouth, Virginia and moved to Guam when I was five months old, when my dad retired from the Navy. Guam is where I grew up, graduated from high school and attended college (at the University of Guam). I have lived in Hawaii and worked for HIDOE at Leilehua High School for the last 9 years now, but lived here previously from 2001-2009. My husband Jesse is retired from the U.S. Army and served for 22 years; he is also from Guam. We have moved around quite a bit in the last 22years. Some of the places we have lived include: Hawaii, Washington State, Georgia, and Iowa. We have been fortunate to visit many other places like Canada, South Carolina, Chicago, Missouri, Minnesota, Kansas ,California, and Vegas. I have three children--Jessie (25) LHS CLASS OF 2015 and attended UNLV, Cody (21) LHS CLASS OF 2019, and Jamie (18) LHS CLASS OF 2022).
I am grateful to be a part of the Aloha Transition Center and to work with our LHS students, the Aloha Ambassadors, and the faculty and staff here at Leilehua High School!
